  1. It is pretty much up to you, you just have to train your pokemon on the right pokemon with the correct item.It is going to take alot of time and patience to find the correct pokemon, but it is worth it if done correctly. My whole team is EV trained and they are awesome. If you ever wanna battle just let me know and i will give you my friend code.

  2. um... i dont think you know what EV training is...

EV stands for Effort Values. You get EVs from battling certain pokemon.

There are 4 EVs in one Stat Point.

So let's say I have an Ambipom and I am training it with Gastrodons. Well, Gastrodons give off 2 HP EVs if you battle and defeat them. So, if my Ambipom has a Macho Brace and beat 1 Gastrodon, that would be 1 HP STAT POINT because Macho Braces double EVs.

So, if it beats 8 Gastrodons it would be 4 Stat Points unless it is holding a Macho Brace, then it doubles and makes it 8 Stat Points. So when my Ambipom next levels up, it will gain 8 HP Stat Points.

And PokeRus, the virus for pokemon, is a very rare thing to come across. If your pokemon has PokeRus, you will see a PURPLE icon below your pokemon's name that says PKRUS. Don't be worried, this is good. It has the same effect a Macho Brace does. It doubles your EVs, increasing your stats. So if my Ambipom had PokeRus and was still fighting those Gastrodons, he would have 4 HP EVs in one battle. AND if it was holding the Macho Brace AND had PokeRus, the doubled EVs would double again! Thus, giving my Ambipom 2 HP STATS in one battle alone!

But, remember, PokeRus is very rare...

Also, there are 8 POWER items that you can buy at the Battle Tower point exchange. Each one improves EVs per battle by 4 EVs. The items are each 32 BP (or 16 or 48, i dont remember). The items are as follows:

    Power Aklet - Speed

    Power Weight - HP

    Power Bracer - Attack

    Power Belt - Defense

    Power Lens - Special Attack

    Power Band - Special Defense

here are some recommended places to EV train in D/P:

HP - Gastrodons (2 EVs) on Route 218

Attack - Machoke + Bibarel (2 EVs each) on Route 211 (east)

Defense - Geodude (1 EV) in the Oreburgh Gate

Special Attack - Gastly/Haunter (1 EV + 2 EV) in the Old Chateau

Special Defense - Tentacool + Tentacruel (1 EV+ 2 EVs) anywhere you surf

Speed - Floatzels (2 EVs) on Route 218. Magikarp (magikarp man next to eterna).

oh yeah, and RARE CANDIES ARE A NO-NO!!! they give 0 evs and if you just level your pokemon up to level 100, your stats will be very low... so wait until AFTER you have all of your EVs and THEN they are safe to use...
