Which is the best portable air conditioner?

can you please tell me which is the best portable air conditioner that you guys bought and has actually made your room cold

The ones with two ducts are better.

Any one with a single duct is expelling air from the room and will have to be made up by puling air from other rooms and ultimately from outside infiltration.

The ones with two ducts will draw outside air in to cool the condenser and discharge it back out without removing air from the room.

Look at Sear's air conditioners to start with, but there are many good brands.

If it is for one room such as a bedroom, you will not need a large A/C.  

A/C are not cheap this time of year.    

Have it serviced each year in April or May so that it will be ready for the summer months.  Some times they need to have freon added as they get older.

I recently bought an Amana window shaker for $99.  It's quiet, works great, and is cooling about 150 Sq Ft.It doesn't have heat, but for 100.00, it's a good deal.
