Try several and see what you like.  Different distilleries will have a different flavor depending on location.  Speysides for example pic up a salt tang from sea air during aging.  My favorite single malt is the 18 year old Glenlivet.  A close second would be Glenmorangie.  If it's a blended scotch you like, try Johnny Walker Blue label. . .but only if you have very deep pockets.  It's wonderful, but frightfully expensive.

Any of the single malts from small distilleries.  They are getting rarer but still available.  Personally, I have always preferred Irish - a twelve year old Jameson - that's smooth...............

Depends on what you like!

Highlands, Lowlands, Blended, there are lots of different choices.

My personal favorites are Talisker, Macallan, and Bowmore.
