Which is the best vacation spot Mexico or Dominican Republic (for 20 somethings)?

Which is the best vacation spot, any suggestions on hotels, and nightlife. Any personal experiences would help!

Dominican Republic is a great place to relax. When I went, I stayed in Punta Cana in an all inclusive resort called Riu Palace. Riu also has 5 all inclusive hotels in Mexico. Mexico is better for the nightlife.

I think the best bang for your dollar would be Punta Cana, Dominican Republic or Cancun, Mexico.

Cancun Mexico has many all-inclusive resorts located in the hotel zone where you have much night life.Check out the Palace resorts, or Riu Resorts.

In Punta Cana any where on Bavaro beach will be fantastic. Iberostar, Riu or Barcelo Bavaro Palace.

If you haven't tried Cancun yet that is always a pretty wild trip. If you have already been to Cancun then I would definitely go to the Dominican Republic, they have some great nightlife also.

I'd say Mexico over Dominican if your looking for more nightlife and things to do. Ive been to both multiple times and I prefer Mexico even though im going back to Dominican in 4 days.

I would also suggest the Cancun/Mayan Riveria area. My favourite resort there was in the Mayan called Gran Bahia Principe Tulum. It shared the property with Bahia Principe Akumal and Coba. I stayed in the Tulum section but you could use the other twos amenities as well. They have trolleys running around the resort to get you one place to the other more efficiently because its a pretty big resort.

In terms of things to do I would highly suggest visiting the Mayan Ruins. They are stunning and there is a piece of beach right by it that many people swim in and its simply breathtaking. On the Bahia's property they have a place called the "Hacienda" which is a strip of stores and a bar and I think a dance club as well. There is definetly a discoteque. You could always leave the property as well to a nightclub just be very careful because its not like here in Canada or the U.S. When we were going to the ruins we hopped in a "bus" which is pretty much like a van for a very reasonable price and it got us there. RIding this bus was definetly an experience itself. Also there is a town nearby called Playa Del Carmen. It has many shopping oppurtunities and right across the water is Cozumel (you cant see it clearly because its off in the distant). Alot of people visit this town it ranges from stores that sell sporting goods to hair braiding on the street.

All in all I would recommend Mexico if your looking for a more upbeat trip. Dominican is also very nice though.

I stayed in Punta Cana with my fiance. He has also been to Santa Domingo...he liked Punta Cana better. Punta Cana is a lot less crowded. The hotel we stayed at was the Catalonia Bavaro. We liked it so much we are going back for two weeks on our honeymoon.
