Which is the best waterfall in Australia?

I am absolutely crazy about waterfalls and when I travelled around Australia for two years, we would go to way out places just to see one. I know we missed so many of them that were in secret local places.

On my next trip, I want to visit some more. I don't care where they are in Australia, I'll try and fit them in if they are worth going to... so if you can suggest any and give some directions (and perhaps a reason why I should see them), I'd appreciate it.

I found a waterfall today and met someone who was testing the water and he told me that even the locals don't know they have a waterfall just 1km from the heart of town and was surprised to see me there. Well, long story short... I saw the name of a park and it was in Waterfall Road so I wondered if there was a waterfall at the end of it. And there was!!!! Lucky me! Does anyone else feel a connection to waterfalls?

I love them myself. Have you travelled the Waterfall Way between Armidale and Bellingen in northern NSW? Or checked out the area between Walcha and Kendall, inland from Port MacQuarie?

I have to agree with the above post...Mena Creek falls are absolutely magical!

Karijini Falls in Western Australia are also beautiful in a very different/outback way.

My favourite though are the Twin Falls in Kakadu, and Florence Falls in Litchfield National Park in the Northern Territory!

Millstream and Karijina National Parks in WA are worth a visit they have some beautiful waterfalls.
