1. The Princeton Review Cracking the SAT

2. Kaplan SAT Premier Program

3. Arco Master the SAT

4. The Official SAT Study Guide

I am looking to buy 2 of them. And another question: Can I use the SAT prep books to study for the ACT. They are the same style questions, right? Thanks.

  1. The best two books for the SAT are the first and the fourth ones that you listed, The Princeton Review and The Offical SAT Study Guide.  The latter is especially indispensable because it has real SAT questions, and the Princeton Review has some really good test taking tips.

No, they are not the same style of questions, not by a long shot. Do not, I repeat, do not try to use SAT prep books to study for the ACT.  Use ACT prep books to study for the ACT.  The best ACT study guide is The Real ACT Prep Guide, and the Princeton Review ACT study guide is pretty good too.

  2. Quepie is right.  #4 is the best, then #1.

I actually offer free tutorials on how to solve problems out of The Official SAT Study Guide at MITEACH.WORDPRESS.COM if you need help.

    G'luck!
