All companies have its own features. Its importance to choose broking company as per our requirments.

My suggestions are below.

1. intraday (day tradding) use:

Karvy or Angel, because they providing full screen live software, and limits are also heavy compare to other companies. (they only provide online software by special request)

2. Short/ Long term, IPO and Mutual Funds

ShareKhan or Kotak

they have best online facilities, you have total control over your account, they send regular statement at your home.

you also can intraday but limits are low compare to karvy & angle.

Icici, indiainfo. reliance is also good but it have less phone support and brockrage are also heavy.

choose your type of company as per your requirement.
