NRL

After all, we get to play internationals and have done for many years.  Representing Australia.  AFL can't do that and the silly hybrid Gaelic Football/AFL game doesn't count.

Besides, we don't get, or want AFL in Canberra.  We have the Canberra Raiders and the ACT Brumbies.

Go the Australian Kangaroos and the Australian Wallabies.

NRL.  While not a national sport (QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC only), it's played all around the world - proper competitions in the UK, France, Russia, America, and the Pacific Island countries.  Something that AFL doesn't have - elite competition - despite the 'claim' one made earlier that it's played in 49 countries.

Also NRL is not marred by dodgy rules like hands in the back, and general loose play i.e. ball on the ground all the time.

AFL is the best in my eyes although i do like the rugby as well,i think its just a matter of personal choice and where you grow up i suppose.

Now you tell me? Rugby League cant take that sort of thing not can any other sport in Australia. The Australian Football League just runs away with the competition in any regard!

Personally I prefer AFL but it really depends on who you ask. Alot of Victorians say that AFL is better but I have friends that are from NSW and QLD and they say that NRL is better

Aussie rules.

So uniquely Australian. No country can beat us if they tried. However rugby is good but to international. AFL belongs to Australia. Rugby isnt as big in Perth as AFL.

NRL all the way!! not that into AFL i guess its more nsw and qld that are into their NRL and AFL is a more national thing but i just personally prefer NRL. Its just a whole lot more interesting to me. plus i reckon theres hotter guys in NRL
