Someone I know said that abortion is such a small issue compared to the bigger problems of homeless people. I was a bit shocked that someone could be so nonchalant about abortion. Am I being narrow minded?

please answer objectively, thanks

  1. Abortion is one of those tiny insignificant  hot button made for TV issues .

The facts of the matter still remain that

Presidents have no legal authority to over rule a Supreme Court decision

That American women do have a Constitutional Right to have an abortion

That denying any  American citizen their Constitutional Rights is an impeachable offense

That any presidential candidate that advocates doing that is not fit for office

That  loading the Supreme Court with Justices who serve for life simply to change one decision, is a danger to our Republic and shouldn't be done.

Lastly b/c Roe v Wade is such a conservative decision that it is extremely unlikely that any court will overturn it

    <<<

Homelessness on the other hand is a huge problem that nobody seems to want to deal  with [maybe b/c homeless people aren't as cute as babies are and therefor create problems for the image makers]

Contrary to popular opinion not all homeless people are lifetime n'eer -do -wells or mentally ill,or druggies or alkys  [although life on the streets does do weird things to people]

There are many of them who were once productive and need i say taxpaying members of our society and time and circumstance placed them in  a position that they couldn't recover from

As America's economic depression deepens  we are going to see more and more people on the streets because they lost their jobs or homes or catastrophic illnes left them penniles

I find it tragically ironic that so much attention is paid to the children who are yet unborn and so little is paid to the kids who are living out of cars with their parents or have simply been abandonded and left to fend for themselves

  2. Abortion is not a political issue. Along with being a private matter belonging to no one but the woman involved. The homeless which includes veterans who aren't receiving the help they need is an issue.

  3. I think they are both big issues - we need to reduce the numbers of both.

  4. Abortion, most homeless people have had all kinds of chances to improve their lives/insure they wouldnt be in this situation. Fetuses dont have that "choice".

  5. Abortion is not and should not be an issue, it's a medical prodecure over people's personal choice. It has no affect on other people's lives.

  6. The homeless, or as someone called them in an attempt at political correctness, "urban outdoorsmen"  are usually in that situation by choice, not by being victims.  They have developed the usual habits, drug use and alcoholism, which render people incapable of holding down a job and therefore incapable of making rent or house payments.  That is a condition of choice.  The victims of abortion, the babies, have no choice in the matter.  Abortion is a tenfold worse problem than homelessness.  The victims of infantacide have no second chances.

  7. The two are mutually exclusive and views vary between them.  Both are troublesome and deserve our attention.

  8. it is now considered a sport to abuse homeless people

do pro-lifers not care for abortion for sole reason it leaves less humans to knock around

  9. You may also be shocked to learn that the vast majority (over 75%)of people  support women's right to choose and for  most of them, it's a non-issue.

  10. Abortion, it is not even close.  Your not being narrow minded at all..

  11. Definitely abortion. You are not being narrow minded. Someone is an agenda driven nimnull obsessed with the 'homeless' issue.

    Read Mona Charon's book 'Do-Gooders".

  12. I'd be very curious to test that theory about 75% of americans are pro choice....If that is the case why has it never been put to a vote by the American citizens? I would truly like to see that ! I believe put to the test pro choice would fail. You can't even drive your car with out a seat belt any more what makes you think America would vote to killing of its young. Homelessness is a problem but comparing the two I'd have to say Abortion is of greater importance and needs to be addressed by the American People Not by the supreme court

  13. I think both are equally as big of an issue... :/ and to say an abortion effects no one but the mother is woefully ignorant seeings as it takes two to create a child and the father (if he wants/ed the baby in the first place) is effected as well as the life that is being aborted.

The argument "it doesn't effect anyone but the one that it's being done to/doing it" is valid for abortion it could also go for homeless people seeings as since I don't see them or notice them so therefore they don't effect me either... :/

so that argument is mute towards both situations...  but I agree with an earlier poster.... both should be reduced as much as possible...

  14. Abortion , of course silly. What a childish question. Abortion is murder.no matter what the circumstance.
