Which is the closest Airport to Gardaland resort. I want to fly direct from Dublin with 3 young children.?

I am trying to book a flight for my family to Lake Garda( Gardaland) but there are no direct flights to Verona from Dublin. How far is it from Bologna - Forli and how can I get to my Hotel easily or how much should it cost by private transfer please.

Hi,

I am from Verona and my sister lives in Dublin. She flies on Treviso or Venice everytime. They are the best choice.

Treviso TSF is served by Ryanair and you can get to Mestre/Venice railway station by shuttle bus in about 30mins.

Venice (VCE) is served by Aerlingus, and you can get to the Mestre/Venice railway station in 10/15mins by several shuttle buses. This is the best choice.

Once at railway station, there are several trains toward Verona (about a couple each hour). This is the main railway line in northern Italy.

You can either get off at the Verona railway station, or get off at the "Peschiera del Garda" railway station which is nearby Gardaland (10min) and where you can find a free shuttle bus toward Gardaland.

If there are no flights to Verona check Brescia - it's on the western side of Garda Lake. It's the next closest option.

Bologna is about 2 hours from Verona by train - Bologna - Forli is about 30 minutes from Bologna by train another two hours to Verona, and then the distance to your hotel. The Forli train station is about 15 minutes from the airport by bus. There's also a bus from Forli airport to Bologna that takes about 1 hr 15 min.

A cab from Forli to Garda will be very expensive. I live about half way between Bologna and Verona - a cab from here to either is over 100 euro.
