Which is the country that spawns more engineers than any other country in the world.?

If you are looking at pure numbers I bet China, just because they have the largest population.

It is difficult because it depends on what you call engineering. In my mind there are some flimsy definitions of what is really an engineer.

Some people call themselves vacuum cleaner engineers, or air-conditioning engineers. These are just tradesmen with no real qualifications but experience in a narrow field.

India probably has the most software engineers coming out at the moment, but the quality is extremely variable.

I would say that the German and USA have large volumes of high quality engineering graduates coming out, although several smaller nations might take the percentage crown.

Denmark, Norway, and other low population areas with good education might pip everyone else on a percentage scale.

Australia is attempting to increase it's engineering expertise at the moment, even (god forbid) allowing immigration of qualified people.
