  2. The longest rivers enter and cross karnataka.Un Like Krishna, Kaveri  (765 kms) born in karnataka and cross it to enter into T.Nadu before ending in Bay of Bengal.    See wikipedia for full details on rivers.

  3. "KRISHNA"

  4. Krishna, the konya river valley project is also on this river

  5. Krishna

  6. There are no significant rivers that flow in karnataka only and not in other states.

Godavari's tributary, Manjira flows through in Bidar district for a short stretch.

Krishna and tributaries are shared with Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, with only Tungabhadra (a tributary) almost entirely in the state.

Half of Kaveri (Cauvery) is in the state.

Though Bidar falls in Godavari basin, the longest river by that logic it cannot be claimed as the river of the state.

Krishna, the next longest flows through the state a good part & hence is important.
