Which is the more difficult escalator to use?

Running up the one going down or running down the one going up. The one at Angel would be fun to try

Going up the down one takes more physical effort, but going down the up one does strange things to your brain.

i think running up the one going down is harder, as your trying to overcome a larger downward force.

Running up the down, however, is much easier, the escalator uses the same effort going up but finds it harder.

Besides which, running downhill is always easier...

I hate escalators, I can go up one but do you think I can go down one, sends me all dizzy or is that my age

All I know is that the ascent is always much easier than the descent.  It's easier on your legs (bones).

I personally wouldn't try either. It is an offence to use an escalator in this manner on the railway and could land you with an £80 fixed penalty fine.

I reckon running up the down would be harder. I tried running down the up and it was pretty easy.

A few months back i saw something hilarious at Angel.  I now realise those "please stand on the left" raised signs are there for a reason!

At the top of the escalator, one man thought it would be a brilliant idea to slide down the metal bit between the escalators.  he slid a few feet until he hit one of the signs/emergency stop buttons and was thrown to his feet and half running, half falling down the slope, trying not to trip on the signs.  he must've gone a good 30ft when he hit something and dived head first back onto the escalator.  we were worried but as we got to the bottom, he'd stood up and was sporting a few facial cuts and an incredible blue/red bruise down  the whole right hand side of his ribs from his armpit to his hip.  

we did ask him to do it again on the next mini escalator but he declined......
