i'm a life-long Bostonian who is visiting Chicago right now. while i was at a Cubs game, i talked to someone sitting next to me and he said that a lot of people are tired of seeing Boston win in almost every sports category. so my question to all: has the Red Sox become the #1 target in MLB?

give me a star if you like this question. thanks.

  1. NYY

  2. yankeeess

  3. both teams are either love or hate, but as far as baseball is concerned, I think the yankees will always be the most hated team, they havent produced their own talent until recently, and they overpay for backups.  The red sox are hated because they are doing good now, but they have a lineup filled with home grown talent, so it isn't like they are buying players.  youk, pedroia, ellsbury, buchholtz, lester, masterson, lowrie, they are all from the sox farm system.

if you take into account the prospects they have traded they would be even deeper, with Hanley Ramirez dealt for Beckett and Lowell.  David Murphy dealt for Eric Gagne, and Hanson and Moss dealt for Bay, along with Manny of course.

  4. Being a Boston fan myself, I would have to say the Yanks. But, being from Alabama, I hear more people who hate the Yankees than any of the Boston teams.

  5. Good question. My answer: I hate them both, with equal strong passions.

  6. Nope the Yankees will always be the Most hated team

They are classified as a You either Love them or Hate them

  7. d**n Bandwagoners

  8. Yes I agree with you. Since the yankees haven't been doing well in this decade, they have become less of a target. Simultaneously, the Red Sox have been making good deals and picking good prospects. All of a sudden The Red Sox are targeted more than the Yankees.

  9. Yankees.

  10. I hate them both cause every year they stick my beloved Orioles in the cellar of the AL East.

  11. YANKEES

  12. Red Sux are more hated.

  13. Can't stand either team.  GO CUBBIES :-)

  14. I'm a Yankee fan, so to me, the Red Sox are my most hated team. And a lot of people have gotten tired of the whole Boston domination the past few years.

  15. a few years ago anyone would say yankees.  Now it would probably be the red sox, but nobody really hates the team, they just dislike that most of their fanbase jumped on the bandwagon in 2004.

  16. Yankees fan here. Although the Red Sox are getting plenty of hatred on the strength of their recent success and the discovery that they, too, have arrogant, loudmouth, obnoxious fans, I'd still say the Yankees are the most hated. Even with the 8-year championship drought, the Yankees are still a mostly hated outfit. I doubt it changes anytime soon. The Yankees could go 60 years without winning and they'd still be the most hated.

Yet they'd still get a lot of love all over the country as well.

And to rockstar: The Yankees don't buy their players, either. The core of the dynasty team came from within the Yankees' farm system and there are still plenty of homegrown players on the roster now. (Jeter, Rivera, Posada, Pettitte, Cabrera, Cano.)

  17. BooSox

  18. you just got yourself into a mad Rush of Bandwagoners

    have fun!

  19. The don't call them the Evil Empire for nothing...

  20. i am a die hard red sox fan but it is so clear that everyone hates boston because for the past couples of years we have been dominant at every sport except hockey but maybe this season lol so the red sox are more hated for now

  21. The Yankees b/c they are better.  I live in chicago and no body cares about boston here. They're all sissys and pilgrims.

  22. Yankees, because more people hate New York people, then Boston.

  23. Patriots didn't win, New York Giants did.  I think that the hate for Boston increased not because of the 2 World Series, it's because of the bandwagon fans.  New York will always be hated even if they went 86 years without a title in which they have never done or never will do.

  24. Well Bostonians and New York Met fans hate the Yankees, so the yankees are extra hated i guess.

  25. I know I've been having to do alot of defending of the Sox over the past few years. Whether or not we've surpassed the Yankee's, idk..

I'm no longer in Massachusetts, so I know what you're talking about.

    I get the same thing.

  26. i HATE them both but i had to choose one it would be boston red sox

(notice i didnt captitalize there name)  mwahhhahahahaahha

  27. yes boston is getting annoying but there not winning without many go yanks and marlins

  28. I think the Yankees.  Because they so out spend everyone and flaunt it.  Consider.  This year their starting catcher has to get season ending surgery; they bring in a hall of famer.  Last year under similar circumstances they brought in the On-base percentage king in Bobby Abreu, etc.   They often lose on a big time contract and just shrug it off and sign bigger players.  (Pavano)

More people hate the Yankees, because it is easy to do it.
