  1. That is a difficult question.  Probably none of the football codes - Australian Rules is not really played in NSW and Qld to a great extent, Rugby League only in those states, Union is a minority sport everywhere and soccer is more a world game than an australian one (though it is played by more australians than any other code of football).

Cricket could be, we are good at it and it is played everywhere.  The same applies to Netball which is also played by more people than cricket.

We get excited about swimming every four years but few of us participate at a competitive level.  Surfing is probably more an 'aussie' sport.

Over all, I would vote for Netball.  Lots of people play it, the stars do not earn much from it, and our greatest rivals are New Zealand.

  2. Test Cricket first and foremost.

    Then definitely Aussie Rules.

League is down the list, behind even swimming.

[edit] Carcillo - Cricket was also created in England.

  3. Aussie Rules what Greg said about how Queenslanders see their game well the sandgropers feel the same about AFL.

  4. Rugby league. If u told some 1 AFL is the most Australian sport here in QLD u would get punched in da face because AFL is a F***n g*y sport only played by mexicans and fruit cakes in some other states. Its the most disgracefull Australian sport that 4 sure

  5. I'd say Cricket/AFL , as they are all played in all states. Rugby league is really only NSW and Queensland based, unlike AFL which is all over.

Rugby was created in England so I can't see how it's most Australian.

  6. Would have to say Aussie rules as the name says it all. I prefer league though

  7. Test cricket is a testament to Australian toughness because 5 days in boiling hot weather is pretty tough, Rugby Union and League is a testament to Australian fighting (we're really good at fighting) and Aussie Rules is the most Australian because it proves we can take a punch.

  8. None.

Most of our sports are from overseas.

We compete well on the world stage in Rugby League, Rugby Union and Cricket.  (All English games)  We seem to do good at Baseball and Basketball (US games)

AFL is from Irish Gaelic football.

Maybe surfing and swimming are the most Australian of sports, given the majority of the populations proximity to water.

  9. Most Australian sport?

WOuld you ask which movie best represents England?

  10. Aussie Rules for sure for us western Australians there is no question about it, we live and breathe for our footy!

For the whole of Australia it would also be Aussie Rules plain and simple cause it is 'aussie rules' and were the only country which plays it, plus we invented it. Although cricket is English, beach cricket is more so Australian because it is probably the country which plays cricket on the beach the most.

    Rugby doesn't even come close!

  11. most australian would be AFL, all the other sports are played widely overseas, where as afl is only here in australia.

  12. afl i'll say. made in australia.

    but never followed it.

    go roosters!

  13. Definetely Aussie rules (AFL) it is only played in Australia and is very much apart of our culture.. Im from melbourne and its reslly big here

other sports like cricket and rugby are all played overseas, which doesnt make them the most Australian.

Definetely AFL is the most australian

  14. Cricket, for sure!

  15. Rugby league, it shows courage, mateship and skill and shows australias toughness to the world.
