Which is the most affordable and good hotel in Langkawi?

I have been planning to take a little vacation to Langkawi in January 2009 and at the same time, celebrate my 21st birthday. I intend to stay in Langkawi for 3 days, and I would like to know which are the best hotels (value for money) on the island. It would also be helpful if someone could tell me how much the airplane tickets would cost, I am thinking of taking Air Asia, but I have no idea what the approximate price would be.. Anyone cares to enlighten me?

Btw, I am located in Singapore.

i checked airasia's website...

there's no direct flight from spore to langkawi..

you gotta transit in KL - Langkawi...

spore to KL..2 flights daily..

price ranging from SGD 65 & above (1 way)

there's 7 flights a day from KL to Langkawi..

price ranging from RM 67 & above (1way)

that is..if you book the flight as early as possible..

(note : current currency exchange 1SGD = 2.38RM)

not sure about your budget of "affordable hotels"

there's a Hotel Helang near the airport..charges about RM120 per night..

and plenty small but comfie motels around..

why dont you go to Tioman island?

its located near JB..nearer to spore, doesnt take up much of travelling time..

you can snorkle & dive there too..

the only difference with Langkawi is that..

Langkawi is a tax free island..so cheap beers & ciggies around..

if that time is not a peak season. places like jetty or airport there are many angents that can introduce you the hotel according to you budget..
