  1. The most scenic would be to follow the Rhine Rive to Koblenz and on to Mainz. From there cut over to Wurzburg and follow the Romantic Road past Rothenburg ob der Tauber. When you get to Nordlingen, you could continue on the Romantic Road all the way to Fussen to see Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles or go toward Ulm.

If you go to Fussen. Go from there to Innsbruck and go over the Brenner Pass. The autostrada goes through the Alps and Dolomites to Verona where you can pick up the autostrada to Milan, passing the south end of Garda Lake on the way. I live south of Verona and have taken this route home from Koblenz, but I was taking my time to explore along the way. Usually, I take the trains.

If you go through Ulm, then you can go past the east end of Lake Konstanz to Vedun in Switzerland and from there to Bellinzona and Lugano past Lake Como to Milan.

These are far from the fastest routes, but they are scenic.
