  1. Coriander is technically the seed of the cilantro plant. Cilantro is an acquired taste for many people and it is sometimes known as Chinese parsley. If you want another thing you can chop into a salad then you can use parsley.

    Here's a list of substitutes:

  2. You don't say - do you want to use fresh, dried, or just the seeds?  Btw, coriander is also known as cilantro.  You may have better luck finding the fresh herb under that name, the dried is usually listed as coriander.

It's hard to say - you could try a fresh ground pepper blend, especially if you're wanting to sub it for dried coriander seeds.  Honesty, it has it's own particular flavor, which I love. Kind of pungent and spicy, but not really hot.

You could also try flat leaf parsley, if you're using the fresh.

I don't think you're salad will be ruined, it won't have as much punch, without the coriander/cilantro.

  3. I like to add dried chives.

  4. Cilantro.

A good substitue would be flat leaf parsley.

  5. If it's the leaf part try a small amount of celery leaves, as long as your not allergic to it, otherwise flat leaved parsley.

When I buy celery I use the leaves as a herb, I find it has an unusual but nice flavour.

  6. coriander is also known as chinese parsley or cilantro.you can subtitute the coriander with flat parsley
