  1. Both are culturally defined, yet it is invariant that everyone feels some type of fear.


  2. I'd say fear, everyone experienced it in their lives.


  3. FEAR. Because the reason we do things is our ways to overcome our fear for something.

The instinct for survival.  It is there from the start.  In most of us, it lasts a lifetime.  Lives that become corrupt or distorted may produce suicide, but without those factors any life will strive to sustain itself.  [Your limiting the choices to fear and laziness restricts the original question unnecessarily.]

  5. Love, hate and fear. They are all tied up together, it's impossible to separate them and say that one is more universal than the other.  

  6. The need to be loved. What someone said about money could be paraphrased for love: Love is the root of half the sorrow in this world; lack of love, the root of the other half.
