kodambakkam station is near to Ashok nagar.  Mambalam station is also there, but when comparing the mambalam and kodambakkam, kodambakkam is better...and the distance to Ashok nagar from both ends are nearly common.

which area you want near chetput ?  chetput is near Egmore.  you can go from kodambakkam,  next nungambakkam and then chetpet.
