Which is the official website to apply for an ETA Visa?

I applied for a ETA visa using visasforaustralia.co.uk and I got an email saying this:

Your application for a Australian travel visa has been referred to the high commission.

The referral has already been lodged.

Nothing to cause concern a random sample of applicants are referred in

this way and it normally delays issuing a visa for a few working days.

To help speed up your application could you please provide a copy of the

- Biodata page of your Passport, [the photo page] by attachment to email.

- A copy of your Birth Certificate by attachment to email.

So according to this email, I don't have to send my birth certificate and biodata in right? unless i want to speed up the process which will take 5 workings days..? I applied for the visa 3 weeks ago and still haven't got anything..have I been scammed?

  1. http://www.immi.gov.au is the offical immigration site, including visas.

Look for a number for the website or contact the Australian consulate.

  2. Go to http://www.immi.gov.au/.

The process is very simple and inexpensive. It is completely unnecessary to employ any type of agent to get it for you. Many are rip-offs and scam merchants. I would be very careful about sending passport and birth certificate details to non-government agencies. Identity theft is very real.
