I live in Sydney and it's way too crowded and the people aren't very friendly either. So can you suggest a place where it's quiet and peaceful to live in aussie.

  1. Sounds like it's time to go bush, I live in the bush 25 minutes south west of Sydney airport it's quite and peaceful, been here for 11 years and still love it.

  2. I agree with you - Sydney is one huge rat race.  Everyone is always racing to be somewhere else.  That's what living in a large city is all about unfortunately.

Thankfully there are many places beyond greater Sydney that are fairly peaceful and quiet and not necessarily remote.

I think of all the small towns in rural Australia, some barely a stones throw from the major cities that don't have high crime rates or everyone stacked to the rafters like sardines.

I think of places like Toodyay about an hours drive out of Perth.  It's history goes back to the founding of the state almost and oozes old world country charm.

I think of places like Pemberton (WA), Cooma (NSW),  Echuca (Vic), Victor Harbour (SA), Grassy (Tas), Whitsunday Islands (Qld) and Mataranka (NT).

My choice however would be Point Samson up in the Northwest of Western Australia.  A tiny little fishing/tourist hideaway (about 300 people live there) with gorgeous beaches and and an outdoor seafood restaurant (Moby's Kitchen) that people line up from all over the region just to get a taste of their menu.  Yet less than 45 minutes  away is the major regional centre of Karratha, with its airport serviced by Aircraft connecting with cities all over Australia and beyond and facilities to match.   When you need the big city stuff, you can get to it, and when you don't they leave you the heck alone.

  3. Well....I live near Bogan Gate and its a nice peaceful place! = ]

And Batemans Bay up on the North-East coast! Particularly Batehaven.

  4. 378 klm north west of the Alice very quiet there

but will be hard to live there

  5. If you can chose leave Sydney area!

Go to Western Australia - biggest state in Aus and you're going to find places where no tourist will find you.
