The problem here is that we answer so many questions with improper spelling that most of us have interpreted your question to be about animals, whereas, I believe the correct answer here addresses the word, "anima"

Animal would be classified as belonging to the Kingdom Animalia.  So the winer would be Megaphragma caribea measuring in at 0.17mm in length and the smallest known insect on the planet.  Of course it is only a matter of time until something smaller is discovered.

Depends on how you define animal. The world's smallest mammal is the bumblebee bat of Thailand. It weighs less than a penny. The fish described in the link bellow is the world's smallest vertebrate. The amoeba (2nd link below), as far as I know, is the smallest member of the animal kingdom. However, this question is better posed to a biology section, unless you are trying to see how many anthropologists don't know squat about animals...
