A Habanero pepper or a Scotch Bonnet? Just curious.

  2. habaneros and scotch bonnets both fall into the same scoville rating.  this would mean that it is "up to you" to decipher, since scoville testing is based on human opinion.

    also, scotch bonnets are a cultivar of habanero, but they are not the same as some people here are suggesting.

  3. They are very close in heat.  Both range from 100,000-350,000 in the Scoville scale.  They are varieties of the same species but are just a different pod.

  4. Scotch Bonnets are a cousin of Habeneros, so they are almost identical... some habeneros are more and some are less spicy, just depends on the specific strain being used, since habeneros can go anywhere in scoville from 200,000-300,000, and scotch bonnets go 150,000–325,000.
