  1. Smallest snake (just read about it in the news today) is here:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/natur...

The article says it's called the Leptotyphlops carlae.

Biggest snake would probably be the anaconda.

  2. The world's smallest snake is likely to be some species of thread snake, but it is difficult to say exactly which since some species are known only from a single specimen, which means the maximum and minimum size of the species have yet to be established. The current holder of the title is thought to be Leptotyphlops carlae (see link below):

    http://environment.newscientist.com/arti...

The world's largest snake is the green anaconda (Eunectes murinus) of South America, which can reach lengths of up to 10 metres (33 feet), and weigh up to 550lb. The reticulated python (Python reticulatus) of Asia reaches similar lengths, but is much lighter.

  3. smallest snake -  Lesser Antillean Threadsnake - can be found in the west indies

biggest snake - anaconda - can be found in south american jungles

  4. The new species, named Leptotyphlops carlae, is smaller than any of the other 3100 previously known snake species,  and it is one of about 300 different species of thread snake and is a dark brownish grey with two yellow stripes, and this is not venomous.  it was under a rock. The snake is about 0.2 inches (5 mm) shorter.  The world's longest snakes is the reticulated phthon which grows to 33 feet (10 meters) long and lives in southeast asia.
