  1. I have a friend whom is currently a mechanical engineering major. Before she was studying to be a nurse and told me how much easier those classes were compared to the engineering classes.

It all depends on your definition of tough. Medicine relies more on memorization, whereas engineering uses more of the critical thinking and problem solving skills. Each field can be viewed of as independently "tough." There are plenty of dumb doctors and engineers.

  2. depends on the students!!

  3. It depends on your academic strengths. If you are good at math and problem solving, engineering will be easier for you. If you are good at memorization and pathology the medical field is easier.

Engineering pay is generally weaker. They get paid on a salary basis. Any overtime that you work is not compensated for, and generally speaking many employers can be demanding of your time.

Also, the medical field is expanding at the moment where engineering (especially manufacturing) is on the decline. Were I to choose an ideal career path, it would be in the medical field.

If you want to get into the medical engineering field, you should look for companies that make prosthetics. I believe they are mostly centered around Indiana.

  4. dpends on the person. i think it's medical.

  5. medical definitely.

it needs more years of study and the syllabus is very huge!

  6. It depends on several variables, but mostly what you like to study. Medicine, after the first few years, is more practical day-to-day application. Your job is explained easily in terms of results. Medicine stops asking questions beyond reason point. It stops exploring new ideas that are not of immediate value.

Engineering, like any other science, is more abstract in general. It’s very mathematical and a lot of work will be done without necessarily having a practical application that is easy to understand. Engineering will always be pushing for a better solution or a more eloquent design.

  7. If u plan to do one of these should have brain to know medical

is always tougher than engr and more money.

  8. Engineering is at least twice as hard probably more. Learning and applying mathematics to the array of subjects you have to master in order to get the engineering degree is as hard as anything can get.

Studying medicine requires the mastering of the skill of memorization. And med school is significantly longer. But the subject matter is NOT nearly as hard as engineering.

Anybody who says differently has not taken a course non linear differential equations. Flunk that no engineering degree, sorry. But you can get through med school if you have a good memory.

Any engineer (it he had the inclination and the cash ) could be a doctor. But NOT any doctor could be an engineer.

Ask any doctor,  ask any engineer.

  9. I am an electical engineer.  My wife is a family practice doctor.  She went to medical school after we were married.

    Medical school is much tougher!!!!

  10. MEDICAL obvious.....isnt it??????!!!!!!!!!

  11. medical is very tuff to study

  12. nothing is tough in life=the brighter you are,the more you have to learn....medical or engg......which ever path you have chosen, take it as a challenge & go ahead in life.

  13. engg is easy .since iam doing it............

  14. TOUGHER medicine is tougher

  15. Easy or tough is only the game of mind. Now a days students are taking engineering  in large as a profession  not bcoz of the reason it is easier or tougher it is bcoz of large no. of placments, great packages and smaller time period of degree education.

Medical is becoming unpopular because of huge time consumption and only approx 5000 no. of limited seats all over including AIPMT and other statePMTs as compared to 7000 in IIT,25000 inAIEEE and many more in state PETs of god colleges.I think u will be satisfied with this answer as I have had both the the experiences becoz my elder sister is doing MBBS and I have choosen engg. as profession.

  16. medical. every disease and every cure.

  17. It is the matter of  how you think about it.

for some people medical is easy but for some eng.

overall both needs lots of hardwork& attention

its about how work in that field with interest

if you are interested in it then nothing is difficult for you

  18. Medicine is tougher.  And requires a lot more school.

edit:  I went to school with several people who proved that anyone can be an engineer :-)

  19. obviously medical is tougher
