Which is worse: Christian rock or christian hymns?

Both are pretty bad. There are a few good christian bands out there. I personally like Underoath a lot.

Christian rock is an abomination.

Many of the old hymns are quite beautiful, but the newer ones are a different story.

Christian hymns are in some cases a genuine attempt to reach the heavens via music, i.e. the musical equivalent of a gothic cathedral.

Christian rock is just evangelical propaganda, and way out of its league. Like someone's dad trying to show his kids how "hip" he is.

Christian rock is a bit of an oxymoron. Hymns can be really pretty though.

Christian rock is no good because rock is supposed to be rebellious. Hymns are cool, just another way of praying.

I'd rather do hymns... but not those "old time" hymns. Some are still worth singing, others are not.

I despise Christian rock. Ever since Christian radio became a must for every Christian from here to Beijing, it makes my stomach crawl. I don't know why. Not a fan.
