Which is a worse feeling to have towards someone?

And also (on other matter) what does it mean when you don't feel anger towards someone who really hurt you, only sorrow?

  1. Def apathy...  Apathy means you couldnt give a tinkers about them... not a thought. At least with hate you are expressing some emotion... even if it isn't a pleasant one.

Apathetic agnostic. I dont know and I dont care.

  2. Apathy implies that you dislike them for no decent reason.

Hatred implies you have a reason.

Sorrow implies that you have a reason, but don't see the need to hate people because of it.

Defiance, on the other hand, implies that although you have a reason, you can see why other people would feel the need to hate others.

Defiance is the means with which Tyranny can be brought to it's knees.

Defiance is more than a mere stand point, much, much more.

  3. Well, if I had to choose between the two, I'd pick apathy. Because hate only causes anger, violence, and bitterness. Apathy means it doesn't affect you anymore, and that whatever they did in the past is gone and it doesn't matter anymore.

  4. I figure it would be hate, because you are wasting energy on something completely counterproductive.

I find apathy to be a much better feeling.

  5. the first answerer is wrong about apathy. Apathy is not having the energy to care. This can be because of decision (I just don't care) or exaustion. Hatred is worse - it is the decision to keep giving energy to the past. Apathy is the realization that you either don't have or don't care to give the energy you have to a situation that is on the past. Live into your potential dear- it may not be as defined as your past, but it is more powerful.

  6. Generally,I would consider hatred towards another,to be the dominant and most self destructive,of the two mentioned emotions. It appears  in the first instance, that apathy is the final stage of unexpressed frustration,or hatred that has eventually and subconsciously become apathetic,in a self preservation for the psyche. (In some instances,I believe that feelings of apathy, can be a temporary patch for deeper stuffed feelings of unresolved anger, from hurt)...

In any case, neither emotion is ideal.

The second instance mentioned is of course natural and very difficult to deal with(I've been there)...I sincerely feel for you and I hope and pray for positive emotional restoration,in your behalf.

That boy has to surface eventually..
