  1. Moderation is the key with anything.  But if you consider what is more "natural' as being "better", I would go with coffee.  Coffee does have  a lot of caffeine but also has some antioxident properties, whereas soda is straight c**p.  The chemicals in 'diet' soda are proven to cause cancer in lab rats when consumed in high doses...no thanks.

  2. As the first poster said, moderation is always the best solution. But in terms of ingredients and effects on the body, coffee is less harmful. While it does mess up your balance of insulin for an entire day, it does not contain carcinogens that sodas contain (carbonation), nor the chemicals in substitute sugar (eg Aspartame) and then the colour, and other things the body doesn't like.

If you were going to compare cup for cup of course, if you're adding ten tablespoons of sugar to your coffee, then of course it's no longer a smart choice either. One cup or two cups of coffee won't kill you. Many cups, a pot of coffee a day has adverse affects. But if you're going to use sweetener, look for natural sweeteners at the health food store, like Stevia, or use raw sugar. Fake sugars that are produced chemically are more harmful than consuming say a teaspoon of real refined sugar in your coffee. But regular soda vs. diet soda- soda contains something like 5 tablespoons of sugar per serving - which is no longer a good amount of sugar. And fake sugar is not healthy period.

  3. diet soda. diet drinks out there only make you gain weight because they cause you to be hungry later on.. therefore eating more. coffee isnt great for you either but if you are cutting out one i would cut diet sodas.

  4. maybe diet soda is worse than coffee..for me

bcoz --coffee..you can get some advantages..

for example, the antioxidants in coffee prevent free radicals from causing cell damage.

    and many more..

  5. Moderation is one thing, but the build up effect in the body is quite another..and it comes from, and at the cost of, frequent 'moderation'.

    HTH.

  6. Diet soda for sure. Its nothing but sugar, which might taste nice but it does completely nothing for you. Recently I heard that diet coke was banned in the uk because it has some additives which mess with DNA. Scary, huh? Coffee is not great as its a diuretic and caffeine is additive but it has good points like it sharpens your mind, relives tiredness etc.

  7. Thats a tough one. One has caffeine and one has sugar. Id go with coffee, as the diet soda would have a low amount of sugar.

  8. Diet soda for sure, in diet soda you have artificial sweetners like aspetane, and sacrin which have been linked to cancer. And the rest of the diet soda is all chemicals. But coffee is natural and actually can be good for you if you only drink one cup a day and have it black....
