  1. physical/sexual. these things often leave you with scars and some memories you would like to forget.

  2. Mental/verbal/emotional abuse.  It DOES have long lasting affect.  Why?  Because during your first 3 years your brain is developing in leaps and bounds.  Love is so important at that age.  When I say love, I mean security, affection, and support.  When that is missing, it will have neurological impact on the developing physical body, including brain development.  Yes sticks and stone may break your bones, but don't be fooled by the last part about "name never hurting", because that simply isn't true.

  3. Mental abuse couse it can lead to more physiological problems. In some cases even lead to deep depression that can affect ur life entirely. In some cases even leading to suicide. They also tend to last longer than physical abuse

  4. Physical abuse, because it can cause lasting damage.

Mental/verbal/emotional abuse you can walk away from.

The other, you may be incapacitated or brain damaged for life. And physical abuse rarely goes without the verbal kind.

  5. with physical abuse, you can show the scars and others can believe you, but mental abuse u cannot prove but u can still be trapped in ur own mental h**l as a result, especially if ur a kid when it happens....this can go on to adulthood.

Id say that verbal abuse is mental abuse...

physical abuse lasts as long as ur body takes to heal, where as mental abuse can sometime never be healed, and worse still, people often think you have nothing to complain about, as physical abuse is often taken as worse.
