lcd is better plasmas get burned in images i have already purchased 6 plasmas since they came out and none of them work . i recently purchased a 70 inch lcd and it workds great. best buy is the place to get one

LCD TVs may be s**y, but lab tests show that plasma screens still have an edge--and you can get a surprisingly pleasing picture without splurging.  See the below article for the comparisons.

How much you want to spend, will you be hanging it on a wall or from a cieling, using a stand and how big of a diagnal picture you want are all important questions.

LCD is lighter than Plazma so it would be best for cieling mount.

Plazma and LCD can both be hung on a wall without a problem.

LCD and Plazma Problems

Plazma has a problem with an image being burned in (if you pause a video game for an extended period...) which is perminant. LCD can loose pixles and that can not be fixed also a LCD screen is easlily damaged by objects like a Wii controler, Plazma screens are more durable and easier to clean.

If the TV will be on a stand I highly recommend a DLP/LCos as they are far less expensive and a better picture on a whole

With DLP/Lcos it uses "millions of tiny mirrors" a high intensity bulb to produce the light which is replaceable for usually around 200.00

With Plasma or LCD if the screen goes out or pixels are lost you are done.

Sony Bravia 52" DLP is arround 1200-1300.00 and is capable of display highest available1080P HD signal (Blu Ray, HD DVD, PS3 XBOX 360) This TV is only 12" deep so on a stand it will have thin panel modern look.

I have 1 Plazma 42", 1 LCD 40" (from a cieling) and 2 DLP a 70" LCos and 61" DLP the DLP/LCos are my favorite by far (all are less than a year old and 1080P)

LCD is the way to go.

1-the price's are almost the same.

2-the color is almost as worm.

3-it consumes less energy.

4-it last much longer.

5-its lighter in weight to.

I would go to Sam's club.

well, i prefer Liquid Crystal, (LCD) just because i like the picture better...but then again, Plasmas are SO cool...you can get them at very low costs at Best Buy.

Personally I like the plazma picture better than the lcd. I have the plazma and I've checked out the LCDs and I think there picture isn't as smooth looking and a little glare on them. As far as deals nower days that dam walmart seems to take the cake. The prices are a lot better now compared to when I bought so make sure you get a good size. For the price you pay nothing smaller than a 42"
