For spectators the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff is one of the best in the world.

My personal favourite is Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes. I went to the Canada v Wales game at the World Cup this year. Its a tidy modern stadium (capacity approx: 38,000). The views of the pitch are excellent wherever you sit. Best of all the atmosphere in the stadium was electric - the French bands add so much. Great venue & occassion.

  1. iam irish but i have to say twichenham is a superb stadium with so much history it means so much for any irish welsh french or scots side to play there as well as the english

in the southern hemisphere i would go for eden park and the home of the all blacks

  2. Stade d France is fantastic. Been there a while back to watch a club game, and I saw an international there a couple of years back. Great place...but will it ever be as good as Ravenhill?

  3. LMAO @ Josh C - never a boring game at Twickenham???? (Better take those rose coloured glasses off Josh)

    1) Ballymore - (Brisbane). I've played a lot of rugby there over the years & is the home ground of my team, the Reds..... the best "small ground" atmosphere ever, (especially on "XXXX Hill")

    2) Stadium Australia, Sydney. Say no more ;-))

    3) Cottesloe Rugby Club - (Perth, Australia). You won't get a more picturesque ground anywhere in the world; on top of a hill overlooking the Indian Ocean. It's also my current club's home ground

    4) Stade de France, Paris. Was there for the RWC, very impressed!!

    5) Eden Park, Auckland. Scene of many epic Bledisloe Cup battles......

  4. murrayfield amazing venue saw south africa scotland game even though they didnt fill it up it was crazy!! imagine the new zealand - scotland game

  5. Twickenham,

    because it's near to me

    and it's England's home ground

and there never a dull game at twickenham

  6. Piglet Pavilion, It is a dusty place. Has two movable pavilions that can each seat 20 people. And there is a rusty score board (no more 1's left so we use school rulers) And when anyone actually plays there it is like a dust storm from h**l and it is common to tackle your own guy, It has been said that if you need to you can take a pee, nobody would see anything in the dusty haze. The problem with that is that if you do pee then within seconds players need to contend with mud too, and boy let me tell you about the mud: Due to the soil texture, when turned into mud, it becomes very very slippery. So it is funny when out of the dust cloud over Piglet Pavilion, a player comes skidding out , and connects with a 5 year old playing with his toys in the dirt. Ha ha, that brings back fun times. All the men usually laugh uncontrollably while the women scowl and glare at them. And then the child's mother usually kicks the responsible player in the testicles, and screams about what a sad excuse for a man he is (many times it is her own husband)

You may ask, "what about the ref"? well the ref is Mildred Smith, her husband Bertrand used to do all the reffing, but after he died she naturally took over the helm. And no she does not actually go out and run up and down for 80 minutes... she is 79 years old! She usually sits on one of the pavilions and blows the whistle from there, and yells orders through a bullhorn.

Since it is so hard to determine who won the game, the final 5 minutes become quite a bloody event, and really whoever has the most players able to stand , is the winner.

  7. Millenium Stadium is superb......but like all these things ...opinions are tempered by petty national bias, and most people cannot see past that.

  8. Eden Park of course.

  9. The Old Boulevard ground in Hull, home of the mighty Hull FC (AKA the Airlie Birds), atmosphere was something else and the singing was just the best, a rendition of the club song 'OLD FAITHFUL' made your spine tingle and was worth a few points start.

The old Threepenny stand was always heaving and was very intimidating to opposition players (and fans)

Witnessed some of my best all time rugby matches there and it also hosted Speedway and a nightime floodlit limited overs cricket match with the then Invincible West Indian team of the late 70's early 80's...get in. Oh and my auntie lived exactly 50 paces from the gates, she was a barmaid at the ground my uncle a groundsman so I used to get in for free when I was a kid..Need I state anymore for my case...:-)))

    C'mon U 'Ullllah!!!

EDIT: The old Boulavard has been saved from demolition (it is over a100years old) and is now been used for greyhound racing plus local amatuer rugby & other local community events

Obviously some KR fans on here who think the Vomitarium has any quality or atmosphere..lol oh yeah and the old craven park was just fantastic.

  10. Eden park its where the gods themselves  descend down to play rugby Fortress Aucklandus a grave yard for club teams and international teams my field of dreams

  11. Eden Park because I have witness many Ranfurly Sheild, Super 12/14 games, NPC, as  well as great All Black test matches there.  I still remenber the Halftime walk when Auckland supporters would walk from one end of the stadium to the other so that we could see the trys being scored.  This was back in the Glory Days when the mighty Auckland team had the Ranfurly Sheild from 1985 - 1993.

  12. Twickenham is awful.Mine would have to be the KC stadium in Hull.
