  1. I honestly don't think Darwin ever meant his ideas to become that.  He was a scientists.  People used survial of the fittest and social Darwinisnm as an excuse for new imperialism.  People needed a reason and Darwin's theorys just happened to fit.

Most ideas are in my opinion are twisted by certain groups of people to mean some thing different

  2. Darwin himself was an abolitionist. Whether that makes him an anti-racist or whether he felt the "white man's burden", you be the judge - but then you'd have to similarly question the works and thoughts of Albert Schweitzer, Mother Therese, Robert Moffat...

Still, this has nothing to do with his theory. Darwinism is neutral on racial issues and that is reflected in its having survived to modern times. Compare it with other pseudosciences such as phrenology, for example.

Darwin observed radiation and adaptation in a number of species and came up with the theory that best fitted his observations; racism does not operate this way. 'Scientific' papers of the time are an appalling display of circular reasonings such as "Negroes are inferior because they have thick lips, thick lips are a sign of inferiority because we see it in Negroes".

Eugenetics in fact was Darwinism in reverse: if anything, strict followers of Darwin should have followed a policy of laissez-faire.

Any Creationists wanting to jump in, bear in mind that before Darwin published his theory, racists derived their supposed superiority from the BIBLE!!!!

  3. My opinion on Darwin's theories is that he is a genius.  My opinion on racism during the new imperialism...um, it was not good???  Until today?... I still disapprove of racism.

I actually have no idea what this question is about and I'm regretting answering it.

    Have a great day!

  4. I actually agree with social darwinism. Some ignorant individuals have labeled it as "racist." I am sorry, but nature is not racist.

The Europeans, who were able to create the greatest societies, countless inventions, art, literature, music, laws and culture that is effecting your life at this minute. Europeans also have thes highest standard of living per-capita.

The Africans however, barely kept any order between their wild tribes creating no masterpiece greater than a mud hut. Their primitve behavior is evident today being the poorest, most illiterate, most disease-ridden people on the Earth today.

Based on achievement alone, Europeans are the undisputed champions of humanity.

Equality is a lie created to make the weak feel good.
