Almost all supermarkets protect some of their items with magnetic sensitive anti-theft strips to prevent shoplifting. However, there are still many items like produce and eggs for example that are not. What other items are not? A jar of yogurt? A can of soup? Magazines?

  1. Usually, clothes, shoes, CD's, electronics, some toys, books and jewelry are protected.  Most of everything else is not.  Why do you want to know?

  2. One of the things that makes security tags such an effective deterrent is not knowing what items are protected, so they are not going to make that information known.

  3. Tampons, rubber chickens and mouthwash.  Thats it.

  4. Are you trying to see what you can steal and what you cannot?  I'd say your safe with a carton of eggs or a can of soup.  However, I'd stay away from CD's, Movies, expensive bottles of liquor, etc

  5. Their best anti-theft device is the cameras that cover the store. Plus the loss prevention officers many employ.

  6. You never know what they are doing. Thats the way they like it.
