  1. Umm im going as a 68W........All jobs are dangerous because anything could happen being overseas. I say you should choose something you would enjoy. I know there has been combat medics that have died but i want to me a paramedic when im older so that why im choosing it. What im saying is dont just choose a job because of how safe it is. Choose a job that you want to do. And if you are not willing to give your life for the usa maybe the army isnt right for you. Try air force??

  2. 11 Bang Bang (infantry) is definitely up there on the dangerous list. Honestly when it boils down to it the infantryman is the one "expected" to die. If you're looking for safety I would say transportation or anything behind a desk. If you want a slight mix of both world you can do what I did and go 31B. You have a pretty solid chance of staying in the states if you go guard or reserve. But ask your recruiter about Jobs involving logistics, he will NOT think less of you because you don't want to see combat, he will just be glad you're signing up. So be honest and ask questions, it's the only way to get things done the way YOU want.

    Hope this helps!

  3. You can be a cook, clerk or a REMF, when your time is up on this earth, then you go!

  4. If you don't want to risk your life, don't join. Period. Any job could be sent into combat, literally.

  5. any combat arms position like infantry tanks etc

  6. Bomb Disposal is the most dangerous. Because you have to defuse the ones that get found before they can Kill. All have a certain amount of Danger. So Artillery, Tanks, and even Communications if you still want to get into the "action". Cook, Supply, Mail room. Ball check out at the Gym, Mechanic. Etc. . . if you want to be back but still helping.

Live long and prosper. Good Luck too you!

And Thank You for your service.

  7. infantry, definitley they are always on the ground when things need to be done or get done, good luck bro, be safe!

  8. Everybody who said infantry is probably right, but from what I hear Cavalrycout is also pretty dangerous.  Here is a description from the Army's recruitment website.

  9. Based on your question.....What you really want to know is NOT which job is the most dangerous.....but which jobs are the LEAST dangerous......

While ALL military service is by definition "dangerous" there are jobs ( MOSs ) which are less dangerous.....

What you are looking for is a support job..... a job in a protected rear area away from actual combat..... again there is nowhere that is totally "safe"...... being a division finance clerk is less hazardous......or a radiology tech in a hospital...... or an avionics tech.......or a pharmacist.......

There are literally thousands of these MOSs ......we who are out in the mud and the blood.....call you REMF ( Rear Eschelon M***** F**** )

but to be honest......without you REMFs.....we would not last one hour in combat..... EVERYONE is important..... everyone is part of the team

I do not know ANYBODY sane who wants to die in the Middle East..... or anywhere else for that matter..... but life is a risk

  10. EOD... Their job is to blow up the IED's... They get big enlistment bonuses.

  11. I think an MOS 97L who are the army translators. They accompany units wherever they go and they bear a moral responsibility.

They also get a bonus for just signing in.

  12. Well, any combat MOS is going to carry a heavier risk factor, but when you get into assault forces your Airborne combat teams are generally the ones that do the dirty work.

In the end though, everyone assumes the same risk, whether that be a truck driver or a nutcracker sitting it out in the green zone.

  13. Infantry from what I hear.  Very dangerous indeed.  They need prayer, and pray they will be brought home soon so they can persue and education, and start a good life.
