  1. Brian missed the opportunity to point out that most of the warming should be on the coldest winter days and night time temperatures.  Global moderation of temperature if it should occur as theoretically predicted should be generally beneficial to everyone.

  2. A 'Polar Bear Control Officer'.  With their rapid population growth..... in spite of alleged AGW..... there will be more encounters with man that will need to be addressed!

  3. I guess there would be a slightly higher demand for AC repair.

    If coastal areas get flooded, there'll be a huge demand for masonry and building in general;

    First choice would probably be weapon manufacturing though.

  4. I am not sure that Air Conditioning will be the industry that will be most necessary for the issue of global warming.  The real implications of this problem are not that people are going to

    have weather that is unbearable hot.  Thing like climate change (wetter/dryer weather for different regions), sea level change, animal population change and many other issues that are not related to warming only.  Global warming is only changing the weather by a few degrees but those few degrees change many of our natural systems.

    Now after I have said all that I think the industries that will really thrive are energy efficient companies companies that have previously been major users/creators of energy, ie. automobile industry, home appliances, and power producing .  This means engineers that are creating wind/solar energy more efficiently will be in demand or engineers that can create appliances that use a drastically lower amount of energy than before will be invaluable to companies because high efficiency products will be in high demand.

    EDIT:  I would like to thank Jim Z on the note that most of the change in temps are the increase of minimum temperatures that occur in the winters.  Global warming is causing milder winters which would imply better conditions for everyone but has some unforeseen consequences.  Plant habitats are affected drastically by temperature and could change our agricultural systems and forest systems.  I am not a forest ecologist so I cannot comment on the exact changes that may occur but there has been much talk on this issue and implications that may ensue.
