Which kind of Sai should I get??

I was just wondering which kind of sai I should get

I want to use them for practicing with my cousin and he has a Katana or its comming in and I want a sai that can take a hit and not chip I am getting my sai from http://www.shureidousa.com/kobudo/sai.html

and I heard that the Black Iron is good for fighting. Should I get Black Iron sai or Stainless Steel??

and yes we are both going to be attending classes to learn how to use them =]]

  1. Iron. You can use gun oil to prevent them from rusting (it's what I do with my jitte). If someone makes them in a spring or mono steel, that would probably be a better (more reliable) steel and require less upkeep than iron.


  2. stainless steal bends.

  3. Iron , gun oil is good so is 3-1 oil which is alot cheaper. best way is to put some in a old tee shirt and rub it down. I Have 2 sets and thats what i use and I do alot of impact training.
