  1. Simplicity has  Sewing for Dummies patterns. And their web site has pattern and beginner sewing help

  2. Anything that's well drafted.  I try to start beginners on either Connie Crawford patterns for Butterick or KwikSew.

When a pattern is properly drafted and notched, it just plain goes together nicely.  When one of the seams is off, you get a mess -- and alas, there are many patterns around that are not carefully drafted.

  3. The Sew Easy from Simplicity.  They have less complicated seams to sew.

    Check out this site too.

    Hope you enjoy.

  4. I like Simplicity...that's what I started with so I'm just used to how they look.

  5. Sew easy is the simplest of all patterns to follow. There are usually a minimum number of pattern pieces and simple seam lines.

I have always considered Buttricks the couture patterns and quite complicated with loads of tiny pieces.

Everything else falls between the two extremes. There are some simplicity patts that are simple, but there are others that are very complicated.

Good luck, just find a pattern you want to make up and read the instruction sheet carefully first.
