I think the Smith & Wesson is better, spring loaded knives are always very nice to have.

I have an old fashioned switchblade and I'm willing to wager you'll end up loving having a knife that can open with the press of a button.

Kershaw is a better blade, and will hold an edge longer.  

Edit.  If you want a razor edge, buy a Case knife.
