  1. ALL knots can come undone, adding superglue to your knot works great its used all the time in fly fishing but hardly ever used in general  fresh water fishing, also you might want to try gherkes knot perfection

  2. 100% agree with S_M_C!

  3. I wish it were that easy...

It really depends on the type of line you have, and what equipment you are using.

The differences may seem trivial, but to get the most out of your knots you need to put all the information together, and make the best choice.

If you are just a recreational fisherman, chances are you don't have any of the fancy, specific, purpose designed lines or hooks. Therefore just about any basic hook knots will work. I suggest going onto a website built by one of the major line manufacturers and getting basic advice from there.

If you do have some of the more exotic line, you can still probably get some good info from there as well. I was watching a show last month, and the guy on there was demonstrating this very thing. Different knots for different lines. I had no idea that there were that many different ways to tie knots on a stinking fish hook!

    Good luck!

  4. The Palomar knot is probably the most used knot in fishing.

    Escapes?

    Shame shame Mr Serial Killer!

You should know! Duct tape! (lol)

  5. i use a  Blood knot for general hook tying a uni knot for joining lines and a perfection loop for soft plastics jigs.

  6. i prefer a good Blood Knot. It always works for me

  7. a good blood knot is the best

  8. Preference for myself be the Palomar and Improved Clinch knots. Links will show them along with different fishin' knots and with the help of animation their real easy ta' tie. "Tight Lines & Fish On" ;)... < ' ( (( > <

  9. The uni knot of course.  Good for all line types and fishing situations.

  10. i know all about this again, a hangmans noose knot should keep them still and non escapable.

    goodluck

  11. yeah palomar and improved clinch is what I use.

Although, the best knots are the ones you accidentally get on your line that you have to end up cutting the line cuz it's so freaking impossible to untie!!!

  12. I prefere blood knot..

  13. Polomar for the hook and a clench or improved clench knot for everything above it.

  14. Properly tied knots do not simply come undone.  They will certainly break at some point, and some will come closer to achieving 100% line strength than others.  But they don't undo themselves.

There are lots of knots in use due to the wide range of applications.  Select some knots that are applicable to your fishing conditions and practice them over and over.  You'll soon find what works best for you and develop a feel for their breaking point.
