I drive a truck and I see accidents in all the lanes but usually you tend to see more in the left and right lanes not so much in the middle.  The right lane due to the traffic that merges and people not understanding the concept of merging.  The left lane as people who are in a hurry and run into the back of other vehicles.  The middle lanes are pretty safe as most accidents I have seen in the middle is where the accident came to rest not so much where it started.
