Considering she's been living in the US for quite a while already, I think English is the language she uses most. (I guess she speaks Russian with her family, but I don't know for sure, of course)

Why assuming that because someone is from a specific country they should speak that language? (I'm from Argentina and I don't speak spanish everyday, I work and there I only speak English, at home English, only with my family I speak spanish) I should speak spanish because I'm from Argentina?

Sharapova is indeed a Russian tennis player. however, she has moved to USA since she was 6 or 7, together with her father Yuuri Sharapov, in order to become a famous tennis player in the world. So, Maria speaks English very well, and at the moment she is living in the USA, so of course she uses English as her daily language.

I've heard some sources saying that Maria can't speak Russian as well as English, since she doesn't use it as frequently as English.

Well, for her, it should be Russian. She was born in Russia, speaks fluent English and Russian, so she should speak Russian. It depends how you say that though, because in her daily life, it involves press conferences and photo shoots, mostly in english. I would say she uses a little bit of English and Russian, because of her activities. Let me put it this way... to her family, she speaks Russian. To the press, she speaks English.

Her daily life would consist of different people around her, tennis tournaments, press and her family.  Like any player on tour, she would use English in her dealings as this is the international language, but with her family and fellow countrymen, in Russian.  Don't forget that Sharapova also does a lot of Russian press, in Russian of course (search the internet for clips).  Of course her own country and countrymen would follow her going ons.  The only reason this is being asked is because it is known that despite her being Russian, she has trained in the United States for a while and we hear her 75% American accent.  But she is Russian.

Maria should use either the good, better or best language in her everyday life.  If she misses a shot, I did not hear her use a bad language... neither the worst language! Technically speaking she could be speaking her mother tongue..or her father Yori's tongue.
