For an English speaker I would say

The reason I put Chinese before German and Russian is because unlike the latter two, the grammar in Chinese is extremely easy, most sentences are very basic subject-verb-object, nouns don't have genders or plurals, and you don't really have to bother with different cases such as accusative, dative, etc..  The harder parts are the tones and the writing system.

Spanish, you speak, write and read in the same way, isn't like English where you write in a way, but sounds in a different way.

well spanish is the easiest, then after that french is easy. spanish and french are extremely similar.  the only difference is the pronunciation.  the roots are exactly the same just spelled SLIGHTLY different.
