Which language should i learn?Python or Java?

Hello, I had programmed with c++ and i want to learn a second language and i really like Python but i don't know if i should learn java cause everybody else is learning java and i don't really know so what do you think?

Learn Java as that will teach you how to program properly. After C++ it will seem much more logical. Then learn Python.

I say learn Java. Java more famous so it will be more useful.

Java is popular now, but I am seeing more and more companies migrating to Python. It can be used for server applications, web application, systems programming, back-end systems and a host of other uses.

However if you go for Java or any other language first, you will have no problem learning Python. If you are and experienced programmer, there is no reason you couldn't learn Python within a week. If you can't, you need to be in another line of work.

Are you kidding me? Python doesn't have the advanced capabilities of Java? I'd say Python is incredibly powerful, versatile and extensible. There is a Python library for EVERYTHING. Python is not a toy language. It is very robust and expressive.

Java's only advantage is in execution speed. Given the difference between how long a Java program takes to code and a Python program in addition to the execution speed, Python still wins.

i am third year software engineer, and i remember we started with python in first year just before they teach us java. python is very easy to learn and also easy to use but it a very simple language it does not have all the advance capabilities of java. if your looking for advance programing go for java and even not advance, java has so many classes and templates that u can do anything u want very easy and also resources available for learning and practicing in java is much more. also if u already now how to program in C++ believe me neither java or python is any challenge with knowing C++ u pretty much now every thing u just have to get use to simple tricks and command lines.
