Which languages i sholud know for embedded system design?

hi...if i take up embedded system as my carrier what languages i should be knowing compulsorily....

ASM, that's by far the only language that you really need to know for embedded design.  Some embedded controllers allow C++, or C but not many.  The whole goal for embedded is to have something that's extremely stable and operates extremely quickly.

Most embedded components are mission critical / time critical components.  That means that if they have to go through an interpreter then the timing could be off.
