Which laptop for art college?

Question

K, so im a senior in highschool right now, and nearing the end. I plan to go to The Art Institute of Portland. Not sure what i'm taking yet, probably, Game Art and Design, and or Graphic Design, or something else. So im getting a laptop for graduation, but im not sure what kind to get. I've been thinking of the macbook pro, and or the regular one. Because i've heard good things about them. But would they be able to handle programs like Maya PLE? or should i go with windows? Not quite sure if Macbooks are really worth the money either....

Definitely Mac. I am a graphic design student currently, and at school, all we use are macs. They are the best for design. Especially for Adobe Creative Suite. I love mine and I'll never go back to anything else.

Great affordable laptops that can be used for gaming and non-gaming. I've had incredible experiences with these and hope to buy one for my own soon. They are MUCH, much better than any mac or macbook.
