Which laptop is best?

Question

I'm in the middle writing a book and like to surf the web quickly but I need a laptop that's; light, nice battery life, quite nice looking and quite a lot of memory.

it may sound like a lot and my dream laptop may not exist but I'm hoping someone can help

How about a netbook? they're portable, light, and some of them have quite a good memory too. Failing that, toshiba or dell is probably your best bet.

Sony Vaio SZ series... very light, very fast, and good battery life (minimum 4 hours on standard battery; up to 6 if you keep the screen a bit dim; and around 8 hours+ on extended battery).  

The battery needs to be used on a regular basis so it does not die, but I think that's the same with every laptop.

My Advent went bust so I replaced it with a Sony Vaio, great job and I am well pleased.
