  1. The Core 2 is going to be CONSIDERABLY faster, and have a  longer run time than the Turion model.  The 3GB ram is a plus in the Turion, but you can always up the ram in the other model for less than $100

    over-all the Core 2 is going to be more reliable, run cooler, and work faster.  No chance of damaging the "touch screen" etc.

    *I* would go for the C2D machine.  Touch screens have "wow factor" but are, in the real-world, pretty useless and take longer to use than a mouse/touchpad.
