Which laptop is better..macbook or dell?

Question

i am a teenager looking into buying a new laptop possibly that is not overly expensive.

i really think macbooks are sweet but they are a lot more expensive than the dell ones, is that extra money worth it?

please please help :)

at the same price, OS aside, the dell would have more features and hardware for the money.

Macs are good for certain things, but price to hardware they're a lot more expensive for the same specifications.  I don't particularly care for Dell either, but between the two I'd go Dell unless you want the macbook for a very specific set of reasons.

I would go Mac. I have a Mac Book Pro and I love it. It is so user friendly that really anybody can use it. Plus they are the most secure computer in the market as far as viruses concerns.

I have heard really bad things about Dell. They overheat, and the system crashes easily. A friend of a friend used to do service work for them and he said that the parts were cheap and that the technical support line is terrible, plus is based oversea.

I know that Mac are expensive but you will buy a computer that you will be able to use several years down the road. Plus they have a deal now. You have to shell out for both the Mac and an iPod, before September 15, and then you are eligible for a rebate of up to $299 for the iPod.

Anyway if you finally decide for a PC don't buy Dell. Buy an HP or Sony.

First off, let's destroy myth number one that Macs are more expensive then Dells. Independent studies have shown that when you equip a Dell with the same hardware, the same or similar software that is on a Mac, the price difference is non-existent. Add to that, that Apple has the highest rated tech support, highest reliability, best battery life, and highest resale value, and you can see that Macs are better. In addition there are over 1,000,000 Windows viruses, there are no released MacOs X viruses. Why fight your computer when you can enjoy it?

What you have to decide it buy a MacBook now or buy later in September when the rumored new MacBooks are supposed to come out. You can get a $999 MacBook now, with a free $300 iPod Touch & printer now, or wait and see what happens.
