Just a question that's been rolling around in my strange mind... Based on this picture of a rock falling on two different legs, which leg will be the most damaged-- the one propped up on two bricks, or the one on the ground?

  1. Niether. A rock that size dropped from that height wouldn't hurt you at all. If the rock is that size it would have to be thrown very hard or dropped from a very high building (such as a skyscraper) in order to do any damage whatsoever. Now if the rock was much larger, say at least a pound or more, then it would do more damage to the leg proped up on the bricks.

  2. the one on two bricks because nothing supports it while the ground/floor supports the bottom plank so there will be little damage

  3. On the ground is better.

The bricks are too hard to absorb much of the energy and leave the center of the leg subject to bending and breaking. The ground will absorb at least some of the energy and you might walk away sore but without any broken bones.

  4. that is simple, the stick on top of the bricks... the stick on top of the brick has less support the the one on the ground..thus, when the rock falls, most of the impact will be felt by the stick with the less support... and so, will end up recieving more damage

  5. easy the one with the two bricks

the force from the rock will be focused on the spot where the bricks are as opposed to being spread out by the ground

you should try it out and tell me how it goes
